As of 2010 there are new guidelines for Heartworm testing!
The American Heartworm Society has released new information about Heartworm disease in the US. They estimate the number of infected throughout the US to be over 1Million pets. Despite the increased efforts of Veterinarians and Pet owners to prevent and treat heartworm; this serious disease continues to threaten the health and lives of our beloved pets. That is why Companion Pet Clinic will be following the new guidelines put in place by the AHS, so that we can provide the best care for your pets.
Heartgard Plus is avaiable through your Veterinarian only. In accordance with the new guidelines, a heartworm test with a negative result will be required annually to fill this medication. With Heartgard Plus, consitant dosing of the medication will protect your pet from this serious disease.
